Incident Analysis: A Case Study of an Australian Electricity Distributor
Description
This project was part of Industry Inner Join v9 - The Dashboard Off, a data challenge where professionals showcase their best data visualization work.
It features an interactive dashboard built to analyze Ausgrid’s Past Outage Data for an Australian electricity distributor. The dataset tracks power interruptions affecting 50+ customers, lasting over five minutes, with details like outage duration and potential causes by Local Government Area (LGA).
The dashboard helps operations managers proactively prepare for future incidents by providing insights into incident trends, regional performance, and peak outage periods. Key features include month-over-month trend analysis, quarter-over-quarter comparisons by LGA, and geospatial visualizations—all designed to optimize resource allocation and response times.
This project aims to empower teams to make data-driven decisions that enhance operational efficiency and improve incident management.
